HRCM submits report on discrimination against women to UN CEDAW Committee

The Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) has submitted its report to the United Nations Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) Committee.

HRCM said that the report, submitted on 12 January 2015, is based on information collected from relevant state institutions and ministries, NGOs, and HRCM projects.

CEDAW’s review of the Maldives has been scheduled for its 60th meeting, which will take place from 16 February to 6 March 2015.

HRCM said that the List of Issues required under the same convention was submitted on 17 June 2014.
