State hospital Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has said that the stray cats reported to have been loitering in its premises recently, have been removed.
Deputy Director General of IGMH Mohamed Rishwan told Sun Online that the hospital staff have “caught and removed the cats from the building”.
He said that the cats have not entered the building since then.
He added that efforts were also under way to exterminate pests in the building, as a measure to get rid of the cats.
Earlier, sources told Sun Online that it was a common sight to see cats at empty counters at IGMH.
The hospital has also received complaints about cats roaming in its compound.
