Police arrest 11 individuals over assault

Police have arrested 11 individuals with weapons used for assault.

Sun Online has learned that Police have controlled the assault at around 11:20 p.m. near Buruzu Magu, Hilaalee Magu intersection in Male’ before any serious attacks.

However, a police man’s head was injured while trying to control the assault, and he has been taken into Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment.

Police Media Official has said that 11 individuals have been taken into Police custody with sharp objects used for assault and the Police man injured is under treatment at IGMH.

He said that the case is being investigated by Serious and Organize Crime Department and did not give any further details regarding the case.

According to the Amendment Bill to the Act on Prohibiting Threatening and Possession of Dangerous Weapons and Sharp Objects passed by the parliament, the court must conclude the trial and deliver a verdict within 30 days of the case being filed.
