Dhiraagu internet service users are facing trouble due to problems with Dhiraagu’s main submarine cable.
Dhiraagu said that the disruptions began at around 22:30 last night, due to a problem associated with a cable located 60km off Sri Lanka and at a depth of 40m. Work is underway to fix this problem.
“The repair vessel is being mobilised from Cochin, India, en route to the cable location,” reads the statement released by Dhiraagu.
Even though Dhiraagu internet service is available today, speed is slow and several major websites are not accessible. Dhiraagu noted that their other services are not affected.
“Meanwhile we are working to expand our diversity routes to minimize the impact on customers. During this period priority will be given to restore browsing and email service for customers using the internet,” reads the statement.
The websites hosted by Dhiraagu can be accessed without problem, but problems are faced when accessing other websites.
