Education Ministry has on Saturday said that criteria for distribution of students to Grade 1 of Male’ schools would be publicized on Sunday.
In a press conference held on Saturday, Minister of State for Education Dr. Abdulla Nazeer said that Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) has notified that criteria of distribution of students to Grade 1 of Male’ schools must be known to the public. For that reason, criteria would be sent to all schools and would be published in the Government Gazette, said Dr. Nazeer.
“The criteria for distribution of students to Grade 1 of Male’ schools are always published in the Government Gazette. That is a lengthy criteria. And always published in our website. It will be available from all schools. However, ACC has recommended us to provide easy access of the criteria to the public. So we will on Sunday make it possible to get the criteria easily” said Dr. Nazeer.
ACC has recommended Ministry of Education to provide easy access of the criteria to the public based on a complaint submitted to the Commission by a group of parents regarding the way students were being transferred to schools of first grade for 2015.
Dr. Nazeer said that so far 2,475 students were given admission from Grade 1 of Male’ schools and this number might change in days ahead.
