Maabaidhoo food poisoning: Two people in serious condition taken to Gan Hospital

Two people whose condition worsened after being food poisoned in Laamu Maabaidhoo, have been taken to Laamu Gan for further treatment.

Maabaidhoo Council President Ismail Shareef told Sun Online that the two people were transported to Gan Hospital on a Gan speedboat.

He said that some people had to be treated outside the Health Centre in Maabaidhoo, due to the large number of people who suffered from food poisoning after lunch today.

Shareef further said that a team from Gan Hospital has arrived in Maabaidhoo, following a request for help.

“A doctor and two nurses have arrived from Gan Hospital. The people who are admitted at the hospital are being looked after by two doctors and four nurses. The situation is improving,” he said.

In addition to this, Gan Hospital has also supplied medicine after Maabaidhoo Health Centre ran out.

Sun Online understands from sources in Maabaidhoo that about 100 people suffered from food poisoning after eating from the same place this afternoon.
