The Ministry of Tourism has announced five islands in northern Maldives to be developed as tourist resorts.
The islands are Haa Dhaalu Dhipparufushi, Haa Dhaalu Kanamana, Haa Dhaalu Kudafarufasgandu, and Shaviyani Bolissafaru.
The ministry has invited interested parties to submit letter of interest, profile, and proof of experience and financial capability to develop and operate tourist resorts before 4 December 2014.
The ministry has organised an information session on these projects at 2:00 p.m. on 27 November.
Yesterday, the ministry cancelled its earlier announcement regarding opening four islands, including Dhipparufushi and Bolissafaru, for resort development.
Tourism Ministry has said that six islands would be opened for resort development next year.
