President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom said that most of this year’s state budget has been spent on improving health sector.
In a ceremony held to submit membership forms of newly joined members to Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and to inaugurate the newly established branches of PPM on Thursday, president Yameen said that while first projected budget from the present government has been sent to the parliament, most of this year’s budget has been spent on Health Sector to establish effective mechanisms and in providing treatments from abroad that were not available from Maldives through Aasandha health scheme.
President Yameen stated that they would fulfill their promises by executing their manifesto. He noted that around 20 patients’ kidneys have been transplanted under Aasandha Health scheme for the first time in the country.
“We always welcome constructive criticisms, however, it is a concern for us when baseless stories are spread around the country that can ruin reputation of the citizens” said president Yameen.
President Yameen added that the most beneficial way for the country was to work for the development of the country with PPM.
