Aston Villa, Tottenham fined 20,000 pounds each

LONDON (AP) — Aston Villa and Tottenham have been fined 20,000 pounds ($31,700) each over a scuffle between their players during a recent Premier League game.

The Football Association announced the fines, which were accepted by both clubs, on Tuesday.

According to an FA statement, the teams were charged with "failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion" during their Nov. 2 clash.

A melee involving several players from each side took place after Aston Villa forward Christian Benteke was shown a red card.

Tottenham, which was losing 1-0 when Benteke was sent off, went on to win the game 2-1.
