Maleesha owner ordered to pay MVR 6 million

The Civil Court has ordered Head of Maleesha Hajj and Umra Services, Ismail Abdul Latheef, to pay over MVR 6 million to Ismail Rasheed, M. Seed, Male’.

In the verdict issued today, the court said that witness testimonies have proved that Ismail Rasheed gave $25,000 to Ismail Abdul Latheef, as a loan; and to repay the loan, Ismail Abdul Latheef gave a cheque of MVR 6,119,262 from his Bank of Maldives (BML) account to Ismail Rasheed.

The court ruled that Ismail Abdul Latheef owes this sum to Ismail Rasheed, and ordered Ismail Abdul Latheef to pay this amount to the Civil Court in instalments over six months.
