Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has said that the provision of security to MPs, which it started on Tuesday, will be stopped tonight at midnight.
MNDF Deputy Spokesperson Hussain Ali Waheed told Sun Online that this decision follows “a change in the circumstance under which it was decided to provide security”.
When asked if security would be provided if requested by MPs, Ali Waheed said that it was not possible to give any further information on provision of security to MPs.
Parliament Secretary General Ahmed Mohamed told Sun Online that MPs have been informed via SMS that security will be stopped at midnight, and that the reason for this decision by MNDF was detailed in the message.
