The parliament has attended to the items listed on its agenda and concluded today’s sitting, which began at 9:00 a.m.
The sitting began with inquiries made by Kinbidhoo MP Abdulla Riyaz from Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr Mohamed Muizzu. Dr Muizzu also answered questions from some other MPs.
This was followed by the first reading of the amendment bill on granting pardon and leniency, submitted by Mahibadhoo MP Ahmed Thorig.
After this, the Speaker of Parliament announced that the sitting would be concluded as there were no more items on the agenda.
“From agenda items six to 13, under these six items, there are no more pending tasks for today. The next sitting will be held on Monday, 27 October, at 9:00 a.m.”
The parliament also cancelled last Monday’s sitting, saying that there were no pending tasks.
MPs receive MVR 82,500 per month as salary and allowance, made up of MVR 42,500 basic salary, MVR 20,000 living allowance, and MVR 20,000 committee allowance.
