Parliament meeting scheduled for Tuesday

A parliament meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday after cancellation of two consecutive meetings for not having any items listed in agenda.

Parliament Office said that meeting would start at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow and the item on the agenda was Ibrahim Shareef, parliament member of Maradhoo constituency questioning minister of Environment and Energy Thoriq Ibrahim.

Shareef would inquire regarding the project of providing clean and safe drinking water to the people of Maradhoo of Addu City as the people of Maradhoo were encountering difficulty in getting clean drinking water for very long.

Debating on the first amendment proposed by the Ali Arif, parliament member of Kelaa constituency, by government, to banking law also was placed on agenda of Tuesday’s meeting.

Apart from these, the committee report after evaluation of the bill, that suggests annulment of the law for keeping people under custody or detention for not more than seven days will be presented in Tuesday’s meeting.
