Police have commenced efforts to monitor ferry terminals as part of their search for the two prisoners who escaped from Maafushi Prison.
The police spokesperson told Sun Online today that ferry terminals, ferries departing from Male’, and vehicles are being searched under this operation, which will continue until the convicts are located.
The police in collaboration with Maldives Correctional Service have searched Maafushi, Guraidhoo, Gulhi, and Himmafushi; and several locations in Male’, including residential buildings under court warrants.
Ibrahim Shahum Adam, 23, G. Cosy, Male’, and Fariyash Ahmed, 26, Javaahiruvaadhee, Gaafu Alifu Maamendhoo, were serving life sentences at Maafushi prison. Their escape through air vents was discovered on Friday night.
