Agreement signed for Hulhumale

The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has signed an agreement with a local joint venture, to construct the multi-speciality hospital in Hulhumale’.

HDC has confirmed to Sun Online that the agreement was signed yesterday.

The company, Tree Top Investments, is a joint venture between Champa Brothers, Crown

Company, Kuredu Maldives, and Kasa Holdings, which includes both Maldivian and foreign shareholders.

Chairman of HDC Hassan Ziyath said that the project to construct an international standard hospital with a capacity of 50 beds should be implemented within one year, and completed within three years.

Ziyath said that the hospital will focus on providing health services for which Maldivians presently require to travel abroad.

Proposals were received for this project from a Malaysian company, a German company, two Indian companies, and the local joint venture.

The project was awarded to Tree Top Investments after evaluations revealed that they had presented the best proposal, the ministry had said.
