President and First Lady depart for Hajj

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom and First Lady Madam Fathimath Ibrahim have departed on Friday evening, for Hajj pilgrimage.

Spokesperson for the President’s Office, Ibrahim Muaz Ali has said that the President and the First Lady will return next month after completing the pilgrimage. He did not disclose a date for President’s return.

Leader of MDA and Member of Parliament for Meedhoo constituency Ahmed Shiyam Mohamed, and Deputy Leader of MDA and Member of Parliament for Kendhikulhudoo constituency Ali Mauroof have also accompanied the President and the First Lady on this trip.

Sun has also been informed that some of the Cabinet Ministers will also go on Hajj pilgrimage this year.
