Health Ministry: Research crucial for health sector

Minister of State for Health Hussain Rasheed has said that research is crucial for the development of the local health sector.

Hussain Rasheed made this remark at the inauguration session of a workshop, to provide information to groups that have shown interest in conducting research related to the health sector, at Nasandhura Palace Hotel today.

He said that research will facilitate the collection of information including scientific evidence related to spread of diseases, changes to health indicators, and effects of diseases across ages; as well as contribute greatly to the efforts to provide quality health services, and shed light on steps to take to eliminate obstructions faced by the health sector.

Health Ministry has said that the purpose of the workshop is to ensure that research proposals meet the requirements set by the Ministry, develop research methodology and skills, and encourage ethical and scientific review.
