Expatriate worker dies in Vilufushi

An expatriate worker has died in an incident which occurred today in the island of Vilufushi, Thaa Atoll.

A police media official told Sun Online that the incident occurred in a construction site. The information of the incident was communicated to the police around 3:40 this evening, according to the official.

The injured man was taken to hospital only to be found dead on arrival.

Ibrahim Shaafiu, President of Vilufushi Island Council said that the man, of whom no personal details have so far been officially revealed, was working at the site of house construction project, run by the government to build 100 new housing units.
