The government has decided to increase the area for construction of buildings in islands leased for tourism by 20 to 30 percent.
This decision was made after discussion at the cabinet meeting held today.
Members of the cabinet noted that expansion of tourist business is restricted by the limit on the area for construction of buildings.
They said that the increasing the area to construct buildings would be an important factor to facilitate the number of beds driven by market demand.
It was also decided to create one state company to provide the services previously provided by the utilities companies created by the former government.
