The family of Ahmed Rilwan Abdulla has announced a reward of MVR 50,000 for valid information on Rilwan’s whereabouts.
It has been 15 days since Ahmed Rilwan Abdulla, a journalist from Minivan News went missing. He was last seen on CCTV footage from Hulhumale’ Ferry Terminal in Male’ on Thursday night, 7 August.
Ahmed Rilwan’s brother Moosa Rilwan told Sun Online that the family is willing to pay MVR 50,000 to anyone who comes forward with valid information on the whereabouts, or what had happened to Rilwan. The family can be reached at 7754566 or 9773250.
“We will see validity of the information by checking if it gives the police a new lead. We have searched the whole of Hulhumale’ for Rilwan,” said Moosa Rilwan. “We don’t know where he could be. Immigration has told us he has not left the country.”
Rilwan was reported missing by his family on 13 August. Since then, police and MNDF have carried out joint search operations in Male’, Hulhumale’, and the sea around Hulhumale’. Rilwan’s friends and family have also conducted a search of Hulhumale’, the island where he is believed to have been traveling to on the night of 7 August.
