Issue of approval of Vice President and Ministers on the agenda for 25 April

Presentation of the report by Parliamentary Government Accountability Committee on the issue of approval of Vice President Mohamed Waheeddeen (Deen) and fourteen Ministers appointed by President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has been put on the agenda for the session on 25 April 2012.

Parliamentary Government Accountability Committee has green-lighted the approval of all fourteen Ministers and Vice President.

The Committee has also made the decision to present each name separately to the Parliament floor for approval.

Six out of ten members of the Government Accountability Committee, where majority is pro-government, voted in favor of approving the VP and Ministers.

Parliament Office said that all Members of Parliament have been informed of the Committee’s decision in writing.
