Dr Faisal appointed Additional Secretary at Foreign Ministry

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has today appointed Dr Mohamed Faisal as an Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Dr Faisal was appointed to the post at the rank of Deputy Minister.

Dr Faisal's name has also been forwarded for parliament endorsement to be appointed as the new Maldivian Ambassador accredited to the People’s Republic of China.

Ibrahim Muaz, Spokesperson at the President’s Office said that the decision to appoint Dr Faisal to the Additional Secretary post was made the President.

The National Security Committee of the Parliament on Wednesday approved Dr Faisal to be appointed as Ambassador. The nomination will be asked for vote on the parliament floor for final endorsement.
