The possibility of the fatal Ebola virus arriving in Maldives is minimal, Ministry of Health has said.
This was determined after an assessment by the ministry which considered the rate and region in which the virus is spreading. Discussions have also been held with different authorities on the possible prevention and reaction measures against the disease, said the ministry in recent a statement.
World Health Organization has said that more than 1,711 people have been infected and that more than 932 people have died the recent outbreak of the virus in West-African countries of Guinea, Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Liberia, the deadliest outbreak since 1976.
