MPL harbour to run 24 hours a day

Services at the Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) harbour in Male', the Male' Commercial Harbour, will be available 24 hours a day starting Tuesday, MPL has said.

Speaking at a press conference at MPL today, the company’s Head of Corporate Services Ibrahim Afzal said that services at Male' Commercial Harbour will be available 24 hours a days starting from 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 5 August. This will reduce the docking duration for ship at the harbour by 50 percent, Afzal said.

“It will now be faster for businesses and locals who seek our services to clear their cargo,” said Afzal. Harbour services will be suspended for a few hours every week before noon on Fridays.
