Gaza fund box stolen in Maalhos

The Gaza Fund Maldives fund collection box placed in Baa Maalhos mosque by Adhaalath Part has been stolen with over an estimated MVR 10,000 in donations.

Abdulla Sujau, Maalhos Council President told Sun Online that the box, which was stolen from the island’s mosque’s compound on Thursday, was found emptied and discarded inside an abandoned house earlier today. Police are investigating the case.

“We have placed donation boxes in the mosque compound before. We move it inside the mosque after sunset every day. We placed the Gaza fund collection box in the compound based on our previous experience, but it was stolen on Thursday. It was found today in an abandoned house near the woods,” said the island council president.
