MTDC makes $0.08 profit per share

Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has made a profit of $0.08 per share in the last quarter.

Numbers release by the government tourism company shows that it made $2.8 million in profit during the period.

MTDC earned $2 million in profit in the previous quarter from a total revenue of $5 million.

MTDC ceased operations of Herethere Resort in June 2013 after stating that the resort was operating at a loss.

The company sold the 540-bed property, located in southern-most Addu atoll, to Singaporean company Canaries Private Limited for $33.3 million in June this year.
