Young woman stabbed in Male

A 23-year-old woman was stabbed in the back tonight by two masked individuals on a motorcycle on street in Male’.

Police media official said the incident took place near Gaafu Masodige around 8:00 p.m. The woman was rushed to ADK Hospital. No arrests have yet been made in relation to the stabbing.

Ahmed Af’aal, Managing Director at ADK Hospital confirmed that the young woman is being treated at the hospital. He said that the woman did not received serious injuries.

In a separate incident tonight, a man was taken to ADK Hospital for head injuries received in an attack near Lemon Grass Café in Maafannu, Male’, around 7:40 p.m. The man was attacked after refusing to cooperate with muggers who had demanded for the his mobile phone, according to the police.

Two men were also stabbed and injured in an assault that took place near flat number 60 in Hulhumale’ around 7:45 p.m. tonight. The men, who received a stab wound to the shoulder and a skull fracture, were taken to Hulhumale' Hospital for treatment.
