Passport services inaugurated in Kulhudhuffushi

The Department of Immigration and Emigration has launched passport services in Kulhudhuffushi in Haa-Dhaalu Atoll, in northern Maldives.

Controller of Immigration Hassan Ali told Sun Online that the inauguration ceremony was held in the island today at 2:00 p.m.

The service will be provided from the Immigration Northern Regional Office, which was opened today.

Passports will be issued within three days of the date of application, and the office will be open for collection of passports on Saturdays as well, said Hassan Ali.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Defence Colonel (Retired) Mohamed Nazim said that this service will benefit Kulhudhuffushi citizens, as well as people of other islands in the region.

The ceremony was also attended by Haa-Dhaalu Atoll Council President Adam Nasir.

Passport services were also inaugurated in Addu City, in southern Maldives, two days ago.

Hassan Ali has said that before the end of the year, the service will be introduced in Haa-Alifu Dhidhdhoo and Gnaviyani Fuvahmulah as well.
