Man arrested for smuggling drugs into Addu

A man has been arrested for attempting to smuggle drugs into Addu City by taping them to his thighs, while traveling from Male’ on a Maldivian flight.

Police said that the drugs carried by the 23-year-old Maldivian have street value of over MVR 700,000.

He was arrested during an operation conducted by Police Intelligence and police officers based in Addu City.

The case is under investigation by Addu City Hithadhoo Police Station.
