Brigadier General Zakariyya Mansoor has been appointed as Director General of Counter Terrorism at Ministry of Defence and National Security.
Responsibilities of the Director General of Counter Terrorism include establishing policies on counter terrorism, advising the Defence Minister regarding counter-terrorism issues, and cooperating with government institutions in implementing counter-terrorism projects.
Prior to this appointment, Brigadier General Zakariyya Mansoor served as Central Area Commander at Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
The letter of appointment as Director General of Counter Terrorism was presented to Brigadier General Zakariyya Mansoor by Minister of Defence Colonel (Retired) Mohamed Nazim. The ceremony was also attended by Chief of Defence Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam, and Director General of International Defence Corporation Brigadier Ahmed Shahid.
