Fisherman drowns after falling off boat

A fisherman died from drowning today after falling from a Kulhudhuffushi fishing boat, off the coast of Nolhivaram Faru in Haa Dhaalu Atoll.

Kulhudhuffushi Hospital revealed that the 58-year-old man did not have any apparent external injuries and that the fisherman was already dead when he was brought to the hospital around 7:00 a.m. today. An official from Kulhudhuffushi Hospital said that doctors had not determine the man’s cause of death.

A total of 10 crewmen were onboard the boat at the time of the incident. Police said that the incident happened on a boat named Azum while it was travelling off the coast of Nolhivaram Faru around 6:30 a.m.
