New shipment of onions, eggs, potatoes will arrive this month: STO

Government’s wholesale and retail company State Trading Organization (STO) has said that a new shipment of onions, eggs and potatoes will arrive in Maldives by 10 July.

Adam Azim, Managing Director of STO told Sun Online today that the price of onion and potato will not increase above MVR 10 per kilogram and the price of egg will not exceed MVR 1.25 from STO during Ramadan.

The new shipment includes 20,000 cartons of eggs, 20,000 sacks of onions and 5,000 sacks of potatoes, and will be sold without restriction, Azim said. He said that STO will try to maintain a steady supply of the products throughout Ramadan.
