Chinese Ambassador assures cooperation in connecting development strategies

Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Maldives Wang Fukang has said that China is prepared to work with the Maldives to closely connect the development strategies of the two countries.

In an article issued tonight by the Chinese Embassy titled “Advocating the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and Bringing China-Maldives Relations to a New High”, the Ambassador also said that China will work together to strengthen the traditional friendship between the two countries, and to deepen cooperation in all areas to bring benefits to the people of both countries.

The five principles of peaceful coexistence, according to the article, are "mutual respect for each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty", "mutual non-aggression", "non-interference in each other's internal affairs", "equality and cooperation for mutual benefit", and "peaceful co-existence".

The Ambassador called on Maldives to join hands to further promote these principles.

The article also highlighted the role of these principles in the past, their current situation and future, and how they benefit China-Maldives relations.
