MVR 1 million stolen from Rakeedhoo Council

More than MVR 1 million has been stolen from the safe at Vaavu Rakeedhoo Council.

President of Rakeedhoo Council Ahmed Saamee told Sun Online that the theft most likely took place during the weekend, and the Council found out on Monday.

When asked for details on how the office was broken into, Saamee said that it was not possible to comment as the incident is under investigation by the police.

Police said that a theft had been reported by Rakeedhoo Council, and it is under investigation.
