We will do everything possible to assist Maldives: India

Indian government has said that it will do everything possible to assist Maldives.

Indian government assured this during the meetings held between Maldives Foreign Minister Dr Abdul Samad Abdulla, who is currently visiting India, and senior officials of the Indian government.

Minister Samad is in India on an official visit at the invitation of India’s Minister of External Affairs S.M. Krishna.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Dr Samad met with S.M. Krishna this afternoon. During the meeting the Minister assured that the economic, social and staff-training projects which are underway in Maldives will not be disrupted. They also discussed the bilateral relations and talked about strengthening the friendship between Maldives and India.

Dr Samad also met with the Indian National Security Advisor today.
