Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that thirteen Maldivians living in Luhansk will return home tomorrow, following the crisis in eastern Ukraine.
Executive Coordinator at Foreign Ministry Nahla Ali told Sun Online that the 13 people including one child will arrive in Male’ tomorrow morning.
She said that they are all doing well, and all expenses related to their repatriation will be paid by the government.
The government announced on 3 June that it had commenced efforts to transfer Maldivians living in Luhansk to Kiev.
Foreign Ministry has assured that it was closely monitoring the condition of Maldivians living in Ukraine since unrest broke out in the country.
Pro-Russian groups have seized control of two government buildings in Luhansk in the ongoing crisis in the region.
