JSC denies reports regarding dismissal of High Court Chief Judge

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has denied media reports stating that it had decided to dismiss Chief Judge of High Court Ahmed Shareef from his post.

Media Coordinator of JSC Hassan Zaheen has confirmed to Sun Online that the commission has made no such decision.

Shareef has been suspended indefinitely since May 2013, in relation to a case filed to JSC against him by seven judges of High Court in May 2012.

Following his suspension, Shareef filed a case to Civil Court requesting to annul JSC’s decision to suspend him. Civil Court however ruled in favour of JSC.
