Government signs agreement with Fenaka Corporation for provision of sewerage facilities in Hithadhoo

Ministry of Environment and Energy has signed an agreement with Fenaka Corporation Limited for the provision of Sewerage Facilities in Hithadhoo (central area), Addu City, Maldives.

The agreement for the project, worth MVR 12 million, was signed at a ceremony at Ministry of Environment today by Minister of Environment Thoriq Ibrahim and Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation Mohamed Nimal.

The project includes the construction of a vacuum sewerage system in central Hithadhoo and is expected to be completed within 240 days.

Thorig noted that Biwater International Limited was commissioned to carry out this project over three years ago, but the company had not made any efforts to implement the project.

He said that the purpose of signing a contract in this regard with Fenaka Corporation was to ensure the provision of sewerage facilities to the people of central Hithadhoo without further delay.
