Belgian missing from capsized dinghy still not found: MNDF

A man missing at sea after a dinghy capsized off the south-eastern coast of Paradise Island Resort on Friday evening is still missing, Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said today.

The missing person is believed to be 35-year-old Oliver Louis Albert, a Belgian working as an Assistant Food and Beverages Manager at Four Seasons Resort Kuda Huraa.

The dinghy with four men onboard was reef-fishing around sunset on Friday when it overturned from a sudden wave. The three men swam to Paradise Island Resort, but soon realized that Oliver Louis Albert was missing.

MNDF said the search effort will continue from sea and air and that Four Seasons Resort Kuda Huraa is also assisting in the search.
