Four officers promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police

As a large number of police officers of all ranks were given promotion, four senior officers have been made Assistant Commissioners of Police.

Hassan Haneef, Police Media Official, said today that the officers who were made Assistant Commissioners of Police were all in the rank of Superintendent of Police. They were Abdullah Fairooz, Hussain Adam, Ahmed Saeed, and Hassan Habeeb.

With the new promotions, there are currently seven Assistant Commissioners of Police. Mohamed Saadiq, Ali Rasheed, and Ahmed Areef have already been serving in that capacity. Of these, Ahmed Areef is currently on a no-pay leave, according to the Police Media Official.

In a ceremony held today at the Iskandar Koshi in Malé, some 900 police officers stationed at Malé as well as some islands were promoted.

Promotion certificates were handed out by Minister of Home Affairs Dr. Abdullah Jameel and Commissioner of Police Abdullah Riyaz.
