BML to establish new SME unit

Bank of Maldives (BML) is working to establish a new business banking unit for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) starting this June, the bank said on Monday.

The unit will assign a Business Banking Manager to each business to serve as a single point of contact for all banking services, BML said.

The Maldives national bank's CEO and Managing Director Andrew Healy said, “Business customers will have a dedicated relationship manager for all their needs and we hope this will encourage them to seek ways to grow and prosper.”

Last week BML announced it had started issuing same-day bank guarantees for its business customers.
