Thinadhoo fisherman dies at sea

A 24-year-old fisherman from Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo has died today while swimming for bait near Gaafu Dhaalu Velagalaagiri.

Police said the young man was found at a depth of around 23 meters by his fellow men from the boat, who had started searching for the man after he failed to surface along with the others.

Dr Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital in Thinadhoo said there were no apparent injuries on the man's body and that the he was already dead by the time he was taken to the hospital.
