Man arrested in Thinadhoo for abusing minor

A man has been arrested in Thinadhoo in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll on suspicion of sexual abuse of a 13-year-old girl.

Police said that the 28-year-old man was arrested on 30 April following a complaint filed by Family and Children’s Service Centre in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.

The suspect has been given detention of 15 days from 1 May, by Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo Magistrate Court.

The case is under investigation by Thinadhoo Police Station.
