Man missing from ferry rescued

A man has been rescued after falling into sea from a ferryboat carrying passengers from Kaafu Kaashidhoo and Gafaru to Male’.

The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. today, while the boat was en route to Male’ from Gaafaru.

A passenger from the boat told Sun Online that the man, who boarded the boat from Kaashidhoo, was standing at the back to smoke a cigarette when he was swept into the sea by a strong wave that crashed into the boat. The boat quickly turned around and rescued the man, the passenger said.
