Mother, daughter still missing in Sri Lanka

Government has said that they have no new leads for the search to find Raashida Ahmed and her 6-year-old daughter Aishath Raina, who went missing in Kandy, Sri Lanka on Friday.

President’s Office Spokesperson Abdulla Muaz said today that they have no new information on the search, but said that the government is putting every effort to find the mother and child.

The family reported the missing persons to the Maldives High Commission in Sri Lanka around dusk on Saturday. Raashida walked out of her house in Kandy after a heated disagreement with family members and it is likely that she might have run away, family members have said.
