Man in serious condition following accident in Male

A 60-year-old man is being treated in ADK Hospital for serious injuries sustained in a road accident in Male’ this afternoon.

Police Media Official said Abdul Azeez from Noonu Velidhoo was crossing the road when a speeding motorcycle hit him. Azeez has serious head injuries, the official said, quoting doctors at ADK.

Police are currently looking for the person who collided with the victim. The motorcycle driver fled the scene soon after the incident.

The number of road accidents and fatalities are on the rise in the capital Male’ and Addu City. Two people, including an elderly man, have died in road accidents in Addu City this month alone.
