Water supply disrupted in Hulhumale

Water supply has been cut off in Hulhumale’ for more than three hours, leaving its residents without water.

Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) in Hulhumale’ said that this was due to a problem with a pump station.

“We are not sure when the service will resume. Efforts are ongoing by technical staff,” said an official who spoke to Sun Online from MWSC Office in Hulhumale’.

Sources have told Sun Online that water supply was cut off sometime this morning.

“There have been frequent problems with water supply lately. It’s often cut off, or very limited flow from the taps. Finally it was completely cut off at around 9:00 a.m. today,” a Hulhumale’ resident told Sun Online.

Hulhumale', with a population of about 30,000, is the sixth ward of Male'.
