Villa College has opened its seventh campus in Alifu Dhaalu Mahibadhoo.
The campus was inaugurated by Villa College Rector Dr Ahmed Anwar at a ceremony on Thursday.
Director of Development and Enterprise of Villa College Mohamed Azeem Haroon told Sun Online that the campus was created by converting an existing building into a college, and this was carried out as a public-private partnership project.
Azeem said that classes for certificate and foundation courses have already begun at the campus with 70 students.
“Classes have begun already yesterday. Courses are ongoing this semester for Certificate 3 in IT, Certificate 3 in Business Studies, Foundation in IT, Foundation in Business Studies, and Foundation in Teaching,” Azeem said.
He said that Degree in IT and Diploma in Teaching courses will be introduced at the Mahibadhoo campus in the upcoming semester.
Villa College already has campuses in Fuvahmulah, Shaviyani Funadhoo, Baa Eydhafushi, Lhaviyani Naifaru, Sun Island Resort, and Addu City.
More than 4,700 students are enrolled at the private college, which was established in 2007.
