Discussions held regarding establishing Japanese Embassy in Maldives

Discussions have been held between President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and Internal Affairs and Communications Minister of Japan Yoshitaka Shindo regarding the establishment of a Japanese Embassy in the Maldives.

The discussions took place when President Yameen met with Minister Yoshitaka Shindo yesterday, as part of President Yameen’s ongoing official visit to Japan.

President Yameen highlighted the importance of establishing a Japanese Embassy in the Maldives, and assured to assist with efforts to achieve this. He also highlighted the close relations between the two countries and said that a Japanese Embassy in the Maldives would help simplify communications between the two countries.

President Yameen also shared with Minister Yoshitaka Shindo information on developmental projects initiated by the government since he assumed office.
