Mango price falls as supply increases from Fuvahmulah

The price of mango has gone down following its seasonal abundance in Fuvahmulah.

The fruit, often used by Maldivians to make juice, is currently available for as low as MVR 1 at the local market – compared with prices between MVR 15 and MVR 20 just a few days ago.

Mango farmer Hassan Ihsan told Sun Online that the fall in price is a result of increased supply.

Majority of mangoes at the market is from Fuvahmulah, but supply has increased from some other islands such as Shaviyani Feevah as well.
